IP Network Engineer Contract

Role:                     IP Network Engineer

Duration:             6 Months

Location:              Hybrid – Leeds

Rates:                   Market Rates (£550 per day) – Inside IR35

Purpose of this role:

Help implement and support a complex IP migration programme. Duties will include configure and deploy network and computing components.

Responsibilities:

• Supports the implementation of technical solutions and deliver on the resolution of inter-system issues, working within cross-functional squads to assist in creating and implementing technical solutions for a domain or cross domain activity.
• Execution of technical decisions, technology choices and architecture for a wide range of high-performance products and capabilities.
• Support with the designs of technical specifications and development of software solutions of smaller and/or less complex
• Assists with planning and monitoring of all activities, from scoping to live, to ensure agreed scope and benefits are delivered in a contained project.
• Maintains systems by monitoring and correcting software

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of operating systems including Windows and Linux Basic command line knowledge for interacting with servers, e.g. Bash, PowerShell, etc.
• IP networking fundamentals including device roles and subnets, management and installation of devices.
• Troubleshooting
• IT security management
• Awareness of agile methodologies
• Microservices/service-oriented architecture

Desirable Skills:

• Windows Server knowledge such as AD, DNS, server management
• Oracle database knowledge, e.g. SQL, PL/SQL, administration
• CISCO accreditation

Candidates must be willing and eligible to undergo SC Clearance.
