IF pride ourselves on keeping abreast of the latest changes in industry regulations and law. In preparation for the forthcoming IR35 legislative changes taking place from April 2020 we are pleased to announce that we will be attending the Lawspeed IR35 Conference on the 19/09/2019.
The all day conference set up by Lawspeed (UK recruitment experts and IR35 specialists) will be taking place in London. Lawspeed will be providing a breakdown of the new IR35 rules and the exact changes to AWR and sector regulation. Lawspeed have provided several of their own keynote speakers (including directors Adrian Marlowe and Theresa Mimnagh, as well as legal expert Peter Lappin). Government speakers have also confirmed their attendance; Ben Bruten, the head of the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate of the BEIS, and Paula Jarnecki (support lead with the HMRC for Off Payroll Working). Other industry leaders, such as Raffingers partner Lee Manning, have also been confirmed as presenting. As a complete roster, the speaker list represents one of the largest knowledge bases of IR35 regulation in the entire country.
The conference is one of a number of ways IF Recruitment are taking all necessary steps to prepare ourselves, and by extension our clients and contractors, for the rollout of IR35 to the private sector. It’s been a busy week here at IF Recruitment. Wednesday saw the Innovation Martlesham 2019 Careers Fair, a fantastic day for IT and business professionals in the local area to meet many of the dozens of companies based on the Adastral Park campus. As an active member of the Adastral campus community, we at IF jumped at the opportunity to get to know some of the amazingly talented individuals living and working in Suffolk.
The event was a resounding success, with over a thousand people attending. We thoroughly enjoyed meeting everyone that stopped by our stand and not only are we looking forward to assisting the IT professionals we met, but we are also delighted to be helping the Students (who will be the professionals of tomorrow) with planning their future careers.
It was refreshing to see that, no matter which stage of their professional journey, all were excited at the prospect of becoming part of the Adastral community and the ground breaking innovative work carried out here every day.
It’s quite clear that the event was a huge success for everybody involved. We at IF started new relationships with dozens of amazing individuals, had the opportunity to get to know some of our neighbours better, and of course were reminded once again just how much of a privilege it is to be based in one of the most important locations in the UK technology industry. If the 2019 event was anything to go, the 2020 jobs@adastral will be even larger. We look forward to seeing you there!
Along with our new name, look and feel, the IF Recruitment boardroom has also seen some changes.
Meet Joseph and Kelly Hathiramani
In October 2015, Joseph and Kelly Hathiramani took to the helm. Joseph and Kelly are no strangers to the recruitment world – they already head up a leading independent recruitment consultancy supplying the construction, technical, military infrastructure (MoD) and building services sectors, both nationally and internationally.
They have come on board with plans to expand business here at IF Recruitment and they have made great progress so far. Our turnover has already increased and our business has expanded, with many new faces joining the fold.
Joseph, our Managing Director, is an experienced recruitment consultant with over 17 years in the sector – he brings a lot of knowledge to the company.
Kelly is our Finance Director. Also with many years in the sector, she knows her way around just about anything to do with finance and contracts.

Our Chairman, Tony Seager, is an exceptional trainer and coach in the recruitment field. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the company and has actually aided the team for many years.
Tony started his recruitment career in the late 1980s and has enjoyed much success as a consultant ever since. He is well regarded within the recruitment arena, and we feel very privileged to have him on the IF IT board.

Jim remains as our Sales Director. With over 12 years’ experience of technical recruitment, Jim has a wealth of knowledge and is well respected in the industry.
